MOVING ELEMENTS
MOVING ELEMENT #1:
Moving shade element that covers the gallery and meeting space area and closes it off from the open. The three pieces move in a fragmented way to cover up the space.Movement shots

MOVING ELEMENT #2:
Magnetic triangular shades attached to the railings of the transitionary bridge between the staff areas and student areas. These shades move up and rotate according to the sun's direction.Animation Link

MODEL DEVELOPMENT + LUMION REAL TIME IMAGES
INITIAL CROSS:
CROSS WITH MASSING ELEMENTS:
These masses were created according the approximate room sizes calculated in the design brief.DEVELOPING MODEL:
Change of design - I decided to change my design because although the cross was unconventional and had a lot of chaotic connections, the cross itself was very difficult to adapt to and manipulate into an irrational and unintentionally strange design. Thus, I recreated my model into a new form. This structure was a blocky form but allowed easier changes and enabled me to develop the rooms and sizes better.

FINAL MODEL:
How it links to my theoryKeeping the previous streamline nature, I rotated several faces of the previous design by 30 degrees and stretched out edges and lines to produce a completely different, irregular yet interesting design for my final product. Additionally, instead of putting windows in, I decided to create the roof using glass. This not only shows the irrational ideas of architecture, but allows light to enter the building unintentionally, depending on the time of the day and the way the sun is facing. This maintains the idea behind my theory of the intentional and unintentional, rational and irrational nature behind architecture, developing an originally proper framework of a design into elements that are completely spontaneous and unconventional.

36 CUSTOM TEXTURES
36 CUSTOM TEXTURES:
FINAL THREE TEXTURES CHOSEN:
Rotational
Linear
Fragmented
TEXTURES IN MODEL:
Linear - The sharp rigid shape of the bars create a jagged, linear directional movement.
Rotational - One of my moving elements, the rotational texture is added as the shades are able to move up and rotate around.
Fragmented - My second moving element, this shade moves in a fractured way using three cut up shapes.

AXONOMETRIC GIFS + INITIAL TRIAL ANIMATION
AXONOMETRIC GIFS
The gifs are composed of 4 normal prisms and two negative prisms. These negative prisms pierce through to create two separate levels, which form the basis of my design.
